The full Queensland and New South Wales teams for the 2015 State of Origin series will be on this page as soon as they are announced. The NSW team was named at 12:00pm AEST on Tuesday 19 May, while the Queensland team was announced from 12:45pm AEST.
New South Wales Blues
Mitchell Pearce has earned a recall to the Blues side to partner Trent Hodkinson in the halves. Josh Jackson also marks his Origin debut with a start at lock.
The rest of the side followed the pre-selection script, with Josh Dugan getting the nod to replace Jarryd Hayne as the fullback. Tupou and Hopoate are the wingers, with Jennings and Josh Morris selected at centre.
Paul Gallen has been ruled out of Origin I after an injury-interrupted start to the season. Robbie Farah has been named to take over as skipper from Gallen.
Greg Bird will miss the entire Origin series, having been found guilty for a dangerous tackle, and being unsuccessful in his bid to have the charge downgraded at the judiciary.
Queensland Maroons
For Queensland, Justin Hodges has made a welcome return to the Broncos after a hamstring injury, and Will Chambers’ selection in the Australian Kangaroos only strengthens their backline stocks.
Cameron Smith is also available for Queensland, having been slugged with a Grade 1 charge for kicking South Sydney hooker Issac Luke in the match before Origin for the Melbourne Storm. If he takes the early guilty plea, Smith will not miss a match.
Darius Boyd has been selected as well, with the winger making a successful return to the NRL against Penrith, and getting through two matches unscathed.
Luke Keary, Tepai Moeroa and James Roberts are all in the frame for NSW selection after impressive starts to the season, though Keary has pulled out of the City Origin side, so is likely to not be a contender.
Queensland coach Mal Meninga has insisted loyalty will be key in selecting his Queensland squad, saying he doesn’t expect too many chances from the 2014 series.
